#RealNumbersPH are social cards prepared by various state agencies. These numbers have been shifting over time. One such card, posted on Facebook at the end of 2017, listed nearly 4,000 killed in police operations and over 16,000 drug-related “homicides under investigation.” The most recent figures say that between July 1, 2016 and May 21, 2018, 4,279 were killed in police operations. There were also 22,283 “homicides under investigation” possibly related to drugs.
This document from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency shows the numbers of those killed or arrested, as well as illegal drugs seized, during law -enforcement operations as of March 2018.
The Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism has raised questions about these numbers.
